I’ll keep this short and sweet. If you want to know more than what I write here then send me an email. I might email you back:-)

I was born and raised in Lamar, Missouri.  I started falling in love with sports because I loved going to my big brother’s games. He is 9 years older than me. I still remember him in all of his glory (mini mullet and all).

I moved to Joplin, MO when I was in the 2nd grade.  That’s when I started playing a lot of sports.  I moved back to Lamar in the 7th grade.  My desire to become the best athlete I could possibly be led to me studying exercise.  I put a lot of time into lifting weights and performing sport specific agilities in the summer with my crazy cousin Steve (whom also had a mini mullet back in his athletic prime). My hard work paid off as I received a lot all – “this and that” corner back and wide receiver during my senior year of football.

Shortly after football season I purchased a football training program from the University of Nebraska to help me prepare for college football.  I signed on to play wide receiver for Pittsburg State University.  During my two years on the Pitt State football team my knowledge for fitness grew.  However, my lack of focus on academics and too much emphasis on having fun ended my chances of continuing my collegiate football career. I took fitness serious but I was too stupid to realize how much drinking affecting my perseverance and academics. Silly, I know!

I eventually ended up at Missouri State University with a moderate desire to grow as a person.  During my undergrad I received a fitness trainer certification through International Sports Sciences Association.  After graduating with a B.S. in Entrepreneurial Management with an emphasis in Economics I entered the Health Administration Masters program at Missouri State.  During my masters I got my first personal training job at Ozark Fitness Center in 2004 (I’m still, to this day, featured on OFC’s commercials. I had more hair then and no beard so you probably wouldn’t recognize me.)

In 2005, I graduated with a Masters in Health Administration with an emphasis in Health Behavior Change and Health Promotion.  I worked in healthcare management for two years all the while day dreaming about training clients to better health.  In 2007, I decided to leave healthcare administration and start my own fitness company.  I started training clients in Springfield but eventually moved to Joplin, MO (because I like a girl there).

Now established in Joplin (and married to that before mentioned girl), I am committed to finding those in the community who have a desire to live a healthier lifestyle and giving them the tools they need to achieve the results they want.
